Here at Your Family Midwife, I believe postnatal visits should be free to woman and their families. There is no limit to the number of postnatal visits you will receive. Medicare supports bulk-billed visits up to 8 weeks postpartum. Postnatal visits generally last 40 minutes, with the option of unlimited follow-up support. I believe receiving care in the comfort of your home can reduce stress and anxiety for parents.
Home visits within 10 km of Kingscliff are exempt from travel costs; any visits over 10 km will incur a charge of $2 per km. However, this can be negotiated, so please don’t hesitate to ask.
What to expect
Before your first appointment, I offer a friendly discussion to learn more about your needs, answer any initial questions, and explain the care and support I provide. This is a relaxed opportunity to talk about your pregnancy or postnatal journey, explore what matters most to you, and ensure you feel comfortable and confident moving forward. My goal is to build a trusting relationship, offering continuity of care and personalised support tailored to your needs.
Bulk-Billed Home Visiting
Safe and sufficient feeding is the most important goal of infant feeding for your baby’s health and brain development. I have supported hundreds of families with feeding plans, whether that be breastmilk, formula, or donor-expressed breastmilk. I am here to help you with the choice you make and the goals you want.
Antenatal Education
Preparing for the arrival of your baby can feel both exciting and overwhelming. Appointments provide you and your partner with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. These are tailored to your needs, covering birth preparation, pain management, breastfeeding, newborn care, and what to expect in the weeks following birth. I create a supportive space where no question is too small, empowering you to make informed choices for your birth.

About Your
Family Midwife
Hi, I’m Tamara – a nurse and midwife of 16 years, a mum of two girls, and someone who understands the highs and lows of the pregnancy, birthing and postnatal journey, both professionally and personally.
I spent over a decade working in a busy city hospital, supporting families through birth and the early weeks of parenthood. I’ve also had the privilege of providing homebirths, offering women and families the option of a more personal and intimate birthing experience.
My own journey into motherhood brought unexpected challenges. One of my daughters came home with a feeding tube and on home oxygen, and like many new mums, I faced my own struggles with feeding. That experience gave me a deep, personal understanding of how overwhelming and unpredictable the postnatal period can be.
Today, I’m here to help and support you. Whether you're navigating feeding challenges, settling your baby, or simply figuring out your rhythm as a new parent, I offer compassionate, practical support grounded in both professional expertise and real-life experience. Mother-crafting is at the heart of what I do – and you don’t have to do it alone.
